One and a half kg of lamb meat (preferably with bones), Two cups of basmati rice, Six medium sizes of onions, Eight garlic cloves, Medium size ginger root, Four to six green cardamom pods, 1 teaspoon of black peppercorns, 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds, 2 cinnamon sticks, 4 bay leaves, 6 to 8 cloves, 4 medium size tomatoes, 4 tablespoons of Ghee or oil, 2 teaspoons of chili powder,2 teaspoons of salt, and 4 cups of water.

The first thing to do is to wash the lamb pieces and put them in the pot half filled with cold water. Add one teaspoon of salt to it. Then add two teaspoons of aromatic whole spices for a much deeper flavour which mention in the ingredient section.
